What is Trashion Fashion? Simply, Trash + Fashion = Trashion. Trashion-Fashionrefers to art, jewelry, fashion, and household items made from used, unwanted, burrowed-up, and reprocessed items. The term emerged in New Zealand in 2004 and was used until 2005. Trashion is a subgenre of found objects that turns things that already have another specific purpose into art. In this case, trash is used.

What is Trashion Fashion?
As we discussed in the last topic, Trashion-Fashion is a combination of fashion and Trashion. It’s the art of recycling unwanted things (or trash) and turning them into something new. Trashion-Fashion is the latest trend in the fashion industry, with many people choosing to recycle their old pieces rather than throw them away or give them to charity.
The History of Trashion-Fashion
Indigenous peoples worldwide have been using recycled materials to create new organisms for an undetermined number of years. Africans made sacks from sacks of rice and juice, Haitians carved ornaments from old oil cans, and American settlers made blankets and rugs from discarded clothing and food. Long before the word “garbage” was coined, people made something out of nothing; Trashion generally refers to “creating something out of nothing” for aesthetic purposes rather than practical use.
Trashion has been an art style since the 1990s. Waste is also the subject of school projects, local fashion shows, community center fairs, and fundraisers. Some of Trashion’s contemporary artists include Marina DeBris and Nancy Judd.
The Theory of Trashion-Fashion
Trashion is a philosophy and ethics that embraces the environment and innovation. Making traditional things from recycled materials can be wasteful, like making avant-garde fashion from junk or trash. It stems from the desire to make better use of limited resources. Trashion is like recycling and reconfiguration, although it started with specific fashion ambitions. As with recycling, waste leads to upgrade items, which can be cheap or expensive. The environmental purpose of waste is to raise awareness and reduce the environmental impact of fashion waste.
The Benefits of Trashion-Fashion

- Trashion is a combination of waste and fashion. It’s a way to reuse old clothes, bags, shoes, and other accessories without causing harm to the environment or animals by sending them to landfills where they can pollute our air quality and water supply.
- Trashion encourages people to turn old items into new ones through creative design techniques such as repurposing materials such as fabrics into different clothing styles that are affordable and stylish at the same time!
Finally, I want to share what Emma Watson said about Trashion -fashion. Repurposing this waste and incorporating it into my gown proves the power that creativity, technology, and fashion can have by working together.
