Officially, Navy SEALs have existed since 1962; at least then, they began donning watches. Watch models have changed over 60 years as technology and specifications advanced.
Instead of looking at these out-of-date models in this article, we’ll look at the contemporary SEAL watches used today.
The main special operations force of the US Navy. The SEALs of today are highly skilled at leading small-unit operations in arctic, urban, desert, and jungle settings.

The Tone of the few “Navy SEAL watches” is the Luminox 3051, which has gained recognition for this. The main reason is that they are marked with a SEAL trident on the back and have the operational force’s name in the watch name.
Because it came before the SEALs’ global notoriety from the GWOT, many civilians and operators have bought into the marketing.
The Luminox 3051 is an eye-catching quartz watch with a dial that stands out for its high contrast. With a 200m water resistance, it resembles a sturdy field and dive watch.
However, many users discover that the internal components can withstand the strain of routine combat use and training after wearing the watch.
Timex Ironman
Thanks to Jocko Willink, a former Navy SEAL, which promotes Timex on social media and swears by them at his mother’s grave, the watch brand has grown in popularity in recent years.
The Timex Ironman is now “officially” a Navy SEAL watch, especially in light of all the new SEALs persuaded by Willink’s social influence to buy it for their frogman careers. One of the last remaining American watch manufacturers is Timex, established in 1854.
The Timex Ironman is reasonably priced, vital, and valuable. It endures a licking and continues to tick. Due to this, it is now a favorite among triathletes and Navy SEALs.
Rolex
Special operations forces received Rolex timepieces both during and after the Vietnam War. They were the ultimate diving tool at the time, indispensable for underwater operations.
When dive computers weren’t invented, water resistance research was in its infancy. Every watch manufacturer today offers a similar-looking model that they have copied, complete with water resistance of more than 200 meters, for a few hundred dollars.
But Rolex pioneered the market with its recognizable styles and waterproof watch innovations. They are now acknowledged as high-end civilian watches and enduring military equipment.
Tudor Pelagos
Tudor is in the same situation as the Navy SEALs from years past. In the 1970s and 1980s, they were also given to Navy SEALs and were frequently seen on their wrists. At a fraction of the cost, Tudor watches are now produced to very similar quality and design standards as the original Rolex.
Seiko Dive Watches
Many operators have favored Seiko dive watches for their missions and diving underwater. They are renowned for being incredibly robust, trustworthy, and simple to read. They are frequently purchased by Navy SEALs and other special operations forces due to these factors.
Seiko divers are just as functional and have a similar history to Rolex but are considerably less expensive. One of the top watchmakers in Japan constructed them to professional specifications.
Today, civilian watch collectors and military divers value them as reliable and classic underwater instruments. Navy SEALs have received a variety of Seiko dive watches over the past few decades; these were the G-Shocks of the 1970s.
Suunto Core
SEALs who require a watch with essential features often favor the Suunto Core.
The watch has much going for it overall, including its size, readability, and attractive altimeter, barometer, and compass (ABC) features. But many users claim it is less reliable and robust than Casio products, a significant drawback in the industry.
Although it’s an excellent watch for getting around to and from a mission, it seems fragile for a UDT guy. But at least one of the guys on your team will be adamant about using them, making him a more trustworthy source for what works.
One of the few watches worn by Navy SEALs that can be recognized is the Suunto Core. They can complete their mission with the aid of this excellent precision tool.
Because they killed bin Laden and are one of the most imposing units to enter, the US loves the Navy SEALs for a good reason. Some of Earth’s most hazardous and important missions are assisted by and completed by them using the best tools and strategies.
SEALs use highly durable and dependable watches in addition to cutting-edge weapons and equipment. Team guys stick to a select few trusted brands, even though numerous commemorative models have been produced in their honor. The top watches in US Frogman history, whether privately owned or issued by the military, are Seiko, Casio G-Shock, Rolex and Tudor, Timex, and Luminox.
